Job Description

We're seeking experienced landscape designers and architects to work with BACQYARD clients on custom residential projects. As a contract designer with our team, you'll create comprehensive landscape designs while we handle client acquisition, scheduling, and project coordination.

This position is ideal for talented designers who want to focus on design work without the business development responsibilities. You'll work with clients who are ready to invest in professional landscape design and value the personalized service that BACQYARD provides.

Primary Responsibilities

Client Relationships & Design

Work one-on-one with assigned clients throughout their design projects
Conduct consultations to understand client preferences, budget, and project goals
Develop comprehensive landscape designs from concept through final deliverables
Maintain regular communication and manage client expectations throughout the design process

Custom Landscape Design

Create comprehensive landscape designs including site analysis, concept development, detailed plans, and material specifications
Develop designs that reflect each client's unique style while considering regional climate, soil conditions, and maintenance preferences
Present design concepts in clear, engaging ways that help clients visualize their future outdoor space

Client Experience & Project Management

Manage project timelines and deliverables while maintaining the personal approach that sets BACQYARD apart
Educate clients about plant choices, design principles, and maintenance considerations
Handle revisions and refinements collaboratively, ensuring clients feel heard and valued throughout the process
Maintain detailed project documentation and communication records

Qualifications

Experience & Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or related field
3+ years of experience working directly with residential clients on landscape design projects
Proven track record of building strong client relationships and delivering personalized design solutions

Technical Skills

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs
Ability to create professional design presentations, plans, and renderings
Comfortable with remote collaboration tools and project management platforms
Strong plant knowledge across multiple climate zones and regions

Ability to work independently while meeting project deadlines

Technical Requirements
