About Us:
We are a personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Contract Paralegal to assist our litigation team on an as-needed basis. The role is best suited for a seasoned professional who can independently manage discovery responses, support case preparation, and handle communications with clients and opposing counsel.

Position Summary:
The Contract Paralegal will primarily focus on personal injury litigation support, with an emphasis on discovery. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and the ability to communicate with clients in a professional and patient manner, even when handling difficult or high-stress situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft and respond to discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, subpoenas, etc.)
Organize and review medical records, bills, and evidence for attorney use
Communicate with clients, providers, and experts as needed
Prepare litigation documents, pleadings, and trial materials under attorney supervision
Manage deadlines and ensure timely filings
Maintain professional communication with clients, including those under stress or difficult to manage

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in personal injury litigation (Discovery response)
Strong knowledge of discovery and litigation procedures (California preferred, or specify jurisdiction)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases at once
Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
Flexibility in scheduling and workload to meet firm deadlines
Contract/1099 role (not W-2 employee)
Must provide own equipment/software to perform work [customize if you provide access]
