Dear Future Email Marketing Strategist,
We’re looking for a true strategist — someone with a strong history of direct response copywriting who can consistently turn a cold or lukewarm list into a reliable stream of booked calls without burning out the audience in the process.
This role is a top priority at 6 Figure Creative. Why? Because we’re sitting on a 50,000+ person email list that’s been drastically underutilized. Every week we don’t tap into it the right way, we’re leaving booked calls (and revenue) on the table.
Clients By Design, our flagship coaching program, exists to help creative freelancers solve the biggest bottleneck in their business: getting clients. Everything we build is centered around solving that problem — for good.
We joke that our mission is to plunge humanity into chaos by helping all eight billion people become 6 Figure Creatives. The real mission? Helping one freelancer at a time, through real relationships, impactful strategy, and the right message at the right time.
If the idea of owning and optimizing our entire email channel — writing with a sharp, human voice, communicating with some of the most talented freelancers in the world (Grammy-winning music producers, high-end designers, etc.), and building campaigns that drive measurable results — gets you excited, keep reading.
What You'll Do
As our Email Marketing Strategist, your role is to create, write, and manage a weekly flow of emails that nurture, educate, and book strategy calls — all while making sure our list looks forward to hearing from us.
You’ll manage our email content calendar, plan campaigns around launches and events, write value-packed emails that still drive action, and send weekly reports on what’s working, what’s not, and what you’re testing next.
You’ll own our entire email strategy. That means everything from regular value emails to booked call pushes, live event sequences, re-engagement flows, and segmentation-based testing. If it touches email, it’s in your domain.
You’ll also work closely with our founder (Brian Hood) to create and deploy better campaigns and resources that support our entire list and sales pipeline.
Your 3 Main Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Execution: You own and execute a strategic, data-driven email marketing calendar that warms leads, books calls, and sustains trust long term.
- Campaigns & Testing: You proactively test, learn, and iterate on the content and format of our emails to steadily improve conversion and performance.
- List Health & Reporting: You monitor and maintain the overall health and performance of our list and report findings clearly each week (qualified booked calls per 10k sends, CTR, Unsubscribes, deliverability, etc).
The emails you write will do more than fill up our sales team’s calendars — they'll spark real change for the freelancers on our email list. Your words will help someone finally land that dream client, raise their rates with confidence, or quit the soul-sucking day job that’s been holding them back.
Every campaign you write is a chance to move someone forward, not just through strategy, but through belief. That’s the real work here — and why it matters.
You’ll be accountable for these KPIs:
- Qualified* Booked Calls per 10,000 Emails Sent = 1–2
- Monthly Booked Calls from Email** = 50–75 baseline, 100+ stretch goal
- Open Rate = 35–45%
- Clickthrough Rate (CTR) = 2–4%
- Booking Conversion from Clicks = 5%+
- Unsubscribe Rate = <4% per month (total list churn)
- Spam Complaints = < 0.01% per email (we currently average 1 to 3 total complaints per email sent)
- Weekly Email Reporting: Submitted each Monday.
*Qualified = The sales rep has reviewed the call application and accepted it. All unqualified leads are rejected and calls are cancelled.
**A note on call volume expectations: We’ve done 3 email list promos in the past year that each booked 150–200 calls. Those were short-term pushes, but they show what’s possible with an engaged list. The 50–75/month benchmark reflects a realistic, sustainable goal for long-term nurture — not just a spike during a promo.
What Success Looks Like
Your #1 Outcome Over the Next Six Months: You’ve turned our email list into a predictable, high-converting channel that books 50–75 qualified booked calls per month, drives real engagement, and becomes one of the most valuable assets in the entire business.

- Email content calendar built and approved

Who You’ll Work With
You’ll report directly to the founder (Brian). Together, we’ll refine how we engage with our audience, scale our nurture system, and turn email into one of the most productive sales channels in the company.
What You'll Learn
You’re already good — this role will sharpen your edge even further. You’ll have the space to own the entire strategy, test ideas, and build email systems that don’t just drive meaningless numbers, but move real people into action.
Not only will you be affecting the lives and businesses of the people on this list, but you'll also be impacting each and every client they work with as well.
What you’ll gain from this role:
- A deep understanding of how to communicate with and convert a niche audience of high-performing freelancers
- Ownership of a revenue-driving channel you can proudly point to in any portfolio or case study
- The opportunity to architect email systems that scale inside a fast-growing, mission-driven company
If you’re absolutely sick of…
- Writing for companies that feel dead inside
- Working with founders who ignore your ideas and micromanage execution
- Pouring strategy and skill into brands that treat email like an afterthought
- Being underutilized, unappreciated, and creatively boxed in…
…then this is your chance to lead, experiment, and actually see your work matter. You’re gonna f*cking love this ❤️
Where You'll Work
We’re a 100% remote company with a small, tight-knit team of 10 people spread across the globe — from Vermont, New Jersey, Nashville, Oregon, Las Vegas, Pennsylvania, and California to Portugal, Romania, and even New Zealand. You can work from wherever you do your best work.
- Coffee shop? Cool.
- Your own home office? Even better.
- Costa Rica for the summer? Send us pics pls.
- We care more about outcomes than clock-ins.
What 6 Figure Creative Does (and Why)
The reason 6 Figure Creative exists as a company is to help freelancers earn more money without selling their souls.
Our flagship coaching program, Clients By Design, solves the #1 problem holding freelancers back from success: they have no idea where their next client is coming from.
The program is built around creating highly-personalized marketing plans for our clients and coaching them through every single step of the process as they implement each playbook.
We believe that the education system is fundamentally broken. Universities will gladly charge their students $100k+ for a creative degree and never teach them the most important skills and strategies for how to actually get an ROI from their investment.
The coaching program you’ll be promoting exists to help the best creatives in the world change the trajectory of their careers (and lives) by learning the skills universities failed to teach them.
It takes more than passion to succeed, and everything we do is built around giving our clients the strategies, tools, processes, guidance, coaching, and accountability they need to have successful businesses.
I look forward to working with you!
– Brian Hood
