We are a fast-paced, growing personal injury and workers' compensation law firm in southwest Georgia whose focus is representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases and claimants in workers' compensation cases. We are in need of an experienced workers' compensation attorney to work remotely to handle workers' compensation cases pre-litigation and in litigation. The job duties would include but are not limited to defending and taking depositions, reviewing discovery, attending hearings and mediations, drafting briefs and motions, evaluating cases for settlement and drafting demands, and managing client satisfaction. Requirements for the job include but are not limited to a license to practice law in Georgia, motivation, ambition, a great work ethic, and a great attitude.
Bar passage and a license to practice law in the in the State of Georgia are required. A minimum of two years' experience handling workers' compensation claims from the claimants' or defense side is necessary for this job. Job duties will include extensive client interaction as well as settling cases, reviewing demands and medical records, negotiating subrogation claims and liens, negotiating with insurance adjusters, meeting with new, potential clients, speaking with new, potential clients on the phone, and keeping clients fully informed regarding the status of their cases. On the job training will be provided. You will be working with one paralegal to manage a voluminous caseload and ensuring that cases are properly opened with all necessary insurance companies notified timely and, most importantly, that clients are kept abreast of developments in their cases. You will be responsible for all facets of the cases from their opening through the time of disbursement and case closure.
We use Filevine as our case management system and Lead Docket. Knowledge and experience with these systems is preferred but not required.
