Position Overview

The Human Resources Specialist will lead Paraklet’s people strategy, cultivating a workplace culture rooted in equity, transparency, and collaboration. This role is responsible for designing and implementing HR systems that support talent development, organizational health, and compliance across a growing, globally engaged team. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and empathetic leader who thrives in mission-driven environments and understands the power of inclusive HR practices to drive systemic impact.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and systems that reflect Paraklet’s values and operational needs
Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and support diverse, mission-aligned talent
Assist in performance management, professional development, and employee engagement initiatives
Ensure compliance with labor laws, benefits administration, and workplace safety across jurisdictions
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on organizational design, compensation, and culture-building
Manage employee relations with discretion, empathy, and a commitment to restorative practices

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 0 – 1year of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
Deep understanding of equity-centered HR practices and inclusive organizational development
Basic knowledge of employment law, benefits, and compliance across U.S. and international contexts
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Cross-cultural fluency and global HR experience are highly desirable
