Job Title: Medical Records Clerk – Personal Injury Law Firm

Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 (commensurate with experience)

Location: Fully Remote

The Opportunity:
A growing Personal Injury Law Firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our expanding team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our case managers by gathering, uploading, and preparing medical documentation essential to the success of our clients’ personal injury claims.

This is a unique opportunity to join the firm as we build out a new medical records department—offering significant room for growth into leadership and oversight roles as the team expands.

Key Responsibilities:
Gathering and Organizing Medical Records

Request and obtain medical records from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers.
Track and follow up on outstanding medical record requests.
Review medical records and billing to ensure dates of service match.
Verify records for accuracy and identify missing providers or dates of service.
Organize, scan, and index records into internal databases for efficient access.
Conduct case audits to confirm all necessary medical records are complete.
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and firm confidentiality policies.

Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in a medical records, legal assistant, or personal injury support role (preferred).
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
