Job Title: Logistics Assistant (Domestic)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Logistics
Division: Business Operations and Marketing Support Division
Location: White Plains, NY or remote in Eastern or Central time zone
Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
General Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing Logistics’ support to sales and marketing as directed
by Management; including assisting customers and vendors, coordinating logistics (carriers,
warehouses, forwarders), processing all business transactions, while adhering to MCA policies
and procedures in order to achieve Company objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
Implements the MTP (Mid Term Business Plan) and Budget:
- by adhering to the MTP and Budget;
- by making decisions in authorized areas;
- and by working as a team.
Performs Logistics Activities:
- by coordinating domestic shipping activity for both bulk and non-bulk sales and consignment
orders including but not limited to: creating a Bulk Truck schedule, generating and verifying
warehouse releases and shipping documentation, and monitoring warehouses and carriers in
fulfilling orders.
- by coordinating domestic transfer orders. This covers all stock transfers among MCA plants,
tollers, and warehouses.
- by carrier coordination including selection and mode per instruction.
- by providing freight rate quotes per request.
- by working with inventory control in reporting inventory damage at warehouses, and disposition per protocol.
- by participating in annual physical inventory audit at major MCA warehouses.
- by filing insurance claim for any domestic carrier related freight damages.
- by handling any domestics return per protocol.
- by ordering supply and accessories for warehouses.
- by auditing and approving vendors’ logistics invoices.
Provides Customer Support
- by responding to all customer inquiries and complaints through Business Support teams in a
timely manner.
Backup Responsibilities:
- By providing backup support to Domestic Logistics Assistant and Export Logistics Assistant
- By filing carrier claims for international freight movement damage
- By being designated as a trainer for new hires as needed
Conducts Logistics projects if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications Needed
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and/or government regulations in English.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, Staff, clients, customers, and the general public in English.
Other Skills
Must be able to use a computer and such applications like Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
