Commercial Real Estate/Private Lending Paralegal-REMOTE-FLEX SCHEDULE, Part time or Independent Contractor.
Reporting to the company General Counsel the Paralegal handles property related transactions such as acquisitions, dispositions and loan documentation. The ideal candidate has solid experience in a variety of real estate and lending matters ranging from simple to complex.
Some duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist with preparation for financing, leasing and development transactions. Request and review due diligence materials for asset management. Follow up on contracts, permits and documents that are in process.
- Abstract loan documents. Respond to due diligence requests from lender.
- Prepare leases, including AIR form, addendum, guaranty and work letter.
- Abstract tenant leases/review abstracts following acquisitions or new lease.
- Prepare property condition reports, order architectural drawings.
- Research property comps and obtain information as needed on related land, environmental or property specifications.
- Verify deadlines and meetings for document sign off, filing and/or processing.
- Coordinate project activities and communicate with multiple parties involved.
- Prepare correspondence, implement and monitor budgets and expenditures, maintain and submit reports.
- Work with and maintain relationships with banks, mortgage brokers, lenders, vendors and contractors, to gather information, schedule appropriate actions, and follow up.
- Assist in the preparation of real estate loan, purchase, sale, loan servicing and ancillary related documents including purchase and sale agreements, conveyance documents, easements, security instruments, notes, guaranties, and general agreements, etc.
- Prepare for and support real estate related closings including obtaining required documents, preparing documents to be executed and confirming contents of appropriate closing checklists.
- Prepare critical dates lists and manage transaction calendars.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5 plus years paralegal experience in real estate or asset management field.
- Must have commercial and multi family real estate transaction knowledge, including working on purchase and sale agreements, joint ventures, leases, acquisitions, mortgage and asset-based financing, dispositions and development of real property and assets.
- Experience coordinating various agreements associated with lease transactions and management of properties, including broker listing and registration agreements, tenant improvement contracts, build-to-suit leases, straight leases, renewals, sublease and assignment transactions, lease takeovers, ground leases, property management agreements and parking agreements
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational skills.
- Sound judgment, decision-making and reasoning abilities.
- Strong administrative, computer, internet and research skills are a must.
- Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts.
- Able to work independently, prioritize, multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, other related software programs.
