International Artist Publishing produces five national and international art publications with a specific focus on the American art market. The magazines are American Art Collector (monthly), Western Art Collector (monthly), Native American Art (bi-monthly), American Fine Art Magazine (bi-monthly) and International Artist (bi-monthly). These titles connect art collectors and artists to the best art shows, openings, exhibitions and fairs around the United States.
About the Position
We are seeking a self-starting, talented writer to contribute to our editorial team covering the American art market. The position will involve interviewing artists, curators, gallery owners, auction specialists and other art professionals. The writing will focus largely on previews related to upcoming shows and events, but will also include reports, features and deeper examinations of art genres. This part-time position will expand to a full-time position (with benefits) in May 2026.
Position Details
- Roughly 20 editorial pages of content per month
- Content includes art show previews (museums, galleries, auctions, etc), event reports, feature articles and other miscellaneous articles.
- Articles will appear in four of International Artist Publishing's magazines: American Art Collector (monthly), Western Art Collector (monthly), Native American Art (bi-monthly) and American Fine Art Magazine (bi-monthly).
- Articles frequently require interviews with artists, curators, specialists and authors. Light research is required on most articles. All content is generated from our human team; AI is strictly forbidden (except for interview transcription).
Qualifications:
- Highly organized, process-oriented
- Efficient and professional written and verbal communication skills with co-workers, clients and interview subjects
- Ability to meet regular, strict internal and external deadlines, and manage stress associated with those expectations
- Ability to multitask: work on multiple assignments at different stages of completion and track progress of projects
- Independent research / problem-solving skills
- Skilled in written communication with a copy-editor's eye for granular grammatical and factual accuracy
- An interest in or learning more about the visual arts
- Familiarity with Google products (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc.) and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of AP Style
Pay: $20,000.00 per year
