Key Requirements
- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution
- 3-10 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in business law
- Proficiency in legal research and writing
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment
- Familiarity with legal software and digital tools for remote collaboration
ResponsibilitiesLegal Research and Document Preparation
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on various business law topics, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
- Draft, review, and edit legal documents such as contracts, agreements, memoranda, and corporate filings
- Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, regulatory agencies, and other relevant authorities
- Assist in the preparation of legal opinions, briefs, and other written materials
- Maintain and organize digital case files and legal documents
Case Management and Client Support
- Manage case timelines, deadlines, and calendars for multiple attorneys and clients
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation
- Assist in client intake processes and maintain client relationships through professional communication
- Prepare and organize materials for client meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling, correspondence, and file management
Due Diligence and Compliance
- Conduct due diligence research for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
- Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory filings and compliance documents
- Monitor changes in business law regulations and update internal policies and procedures accordingly
- Maintain and update corporate records, including minute books, stock ledgers, and entity registrations
Legal Technology and Data Management
- Utilize legal research databases and tools to support case work and stay current on legal developments
- Manage and organize electronic discovery processes, including document review and production
- Maintain and update case management software and legal databases
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of legal technology solutions for remote work
Collaboration and Communication
- Participate in virtual team meetings and case strategy sessions
- Collaborate with attorneys, other paralegals, and support staff on complex legal matters
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel via email, phone and in-person meetings
