Job Summary
Oasis Builders, Inc. a high-end residential construction company based in Los Angeles, is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper with strong experience in construction accounting. This role is currently being offered for a remote position, however, it may require in-person work at our LA office 2-3 days per month and will grow in time commitment as our project load expands. We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts, including GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through bookkeeping practices.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Execute journal entries and ensure accuracy in debits and credits.
- Conduct account reconciliation and analysis to identify discrepancies.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient record-keeping.
- Assist in budgeting processes and financial report writing.
- Provide support for governmental or non-profit accounting as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero).
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with public accounting standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills for account analysis and budgeting tasks.
- Experience with bank reconciliation processes is preferred.
